jarvis jones

At 6’3″ 240lbs, Jarvis Jones is the best linebacker in the country hands down. In fact, he might be the best defensive player in the country.

With the 4th pick in this years draft, the Eagles should give strong consideration to drafting Jones, who would undoubtedly make an impact from day one. If the speculation that the Eagles are going to hire Todd Grantham and move to a 3-4 defense holds true, Jarvis Jones would be the perfect fit.

Well, so much for Gus Bradley.

In a complete curve-ball of a move, the Eagles have hired the now former Oregon head coach, Chip Kelly to lead them back to the promise land.

Kelly, considered by many to be one of the most innovative offensive minds in the game, is coming into a somewhat messy situation with the Eagles.

With uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position, most of the offensive line coming off serious injuries, and a defense in total shambles, Chip Kelly will have his work cut out for him from day one.

With the style of offense Oregon runs, the knee jerk reaction so far has been that Michael Vick could be back in the fold at QB, but not so fast:

“I’ll tell you what; I’m glad Nick Foles is graduating. I catch myself watching him in awe sometimes” Chip Kelly on Nick Foles (2011)

Personally, I wanted Gus Bradley or Brian Billick, but, I’m just happy at this point they made a damn decision. Let’s face it, the NFL is an offense-first league. The Colts, Saints, and other teams have won Super Bowls with 20th+ ranked defenses.

More to come later.
